What sets us apart?
Paramount First Aid launched in 2024 as a brand-new small business with a clear purpose.
The Essentials — first aid everybody needs to know
We specialise in paramedic curated and instructed first aid training, combining practical, relevant teaching drawn from years of paramedic experience with the national gold-standard outlined by the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
Our market research told us that time commitment and expensive course fees discourage people from pursuing first aid training. We get it — those days can be long and overwhelming. That's why our Essentials course is intentionally different from standard accredited courses: shorter, sharper, and focused purely on the skills that matter most.

Maniah's Story

Maniah Betham was a charismatic and generous teen, and a state swimming champion. In 2014, while at his local youth group, Maniah suffered a sudden cardiac arrest caused by an undiagnosed heart condition. He was fifteen years old.
Despite immediate and effective CPR performed by his family, Maniah could not be resuscitated. There was no AED (Automated External Defibrillator) at the facility or nearby, so there was no opportunity to restart his heart before paramedics arrived. We'll never know for certain whether an AED would have saved his life — but it's possible it may have.
We so often associate cardiac arrest with those who are elderly or chronically unwell, and rarely expect it in someone young and seemingly healthy.
Maniah's story is what motivated Leah to start Paramount First Aid. As a paramedic, she has attended many people in cardiac arrest, and firmly believes their best chance of survival comes when bystanders — family, friends, even strangers — immediately recognise the need for CPR, call 000, and apply a nearby AED quickly.
Our dream is to see every Australian equipped with the knowledge and skills to instantly recognise and respond to cardiac arrest and other life-threatening emergencies, so that as many lives as possible can be saved.
